A new ‘super stylish’ Greene King restaurant, The Isle of Ely, has opened today (March 7) in Ely’s leisure village, creating 25 jobs.
The interior décor takes inspiration from local landmarks and includes photography of Ely Cathedral, complete with references to the city’s history.
Early arrivals to the restaurant were Tom Cockerton and his three-year-old son, Freddie.
Tom said: “What a great addition to Ely Leisure Village!
“The menu is massive and has something for everyone.
“There’s a really unique feel to the place, with some great local references within the décor to catch your eye.
“I love it and can’t wait to return soon, especially with my family for Sunday lunch.”
The restaurant is described by bosses as “the place to be for locals and visitors alike” and is a great new addition for sports fans as The Isle of Ely airs Sky Sports on their ‘super-sized’ screens throughout the site.
A statement from Greene King said: “Guests can select from pub classics and tasty chicken dishes, to lighter bites and colourful, calorie conscious salads – or even coffee and cake for just £2.99.
“The venue also offers a wide drinks selection with craft beers, including national and local cask ales, plus an array of gins and rums.”
Alan Kitson, general manager, said: “The opening day has been a real success and we’ve already received some incredible feedback from our guests.
“The pub looks fantastic and we were all so excited to swing open the doors and share Ely’s latest offering with them!
“We have designed the pub to ensure it caters for everyone, making it a destination for a wide range of guests, whether they’re celebrating something special, joining us before catching the latest blockbuster or simply want a night away from the kitchen!
“We can even make weekends even easier with our delicious Sunday lunches, tempting pudding selection and sporting fixtures on the big screens.
“The team and I had a great day and we can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors to the Isle of Ely very soon!”
They’re recruiting bar and kitchen staff, for more information on the jobs available, contact Mark Teuten on 01353 888731.
