Arsonists set fire to two bins in Little Thetford, on Thursday night.
Firefighters from Ely were first called to a blaze in Main Street, at about 11pm.
A bin had been on fire and a passerby had attempted to extinguish it. Crews used hose reels to ensure it was properly extinguished.
A second bin fire was then reported in nearby Cowslip Drive and crews extinguished this was a hose reel before returning to their stations by 11.50pm.
The cause of both fires was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
