Arsonists started a fire in a field in Ely last night (Wednesday).
Firefighters from Ely were called shortly after 7pm to a fire in the open in Leicester Close.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A small fire in the open was extinguished by firefighters with hoses before they returned to their station by 8.10pm.”
An investigation by firefighters determined that the cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
