Arsonists set fire to a derelict building in Soham on Saturday.
Firefighters from Soham and Newmarket, in Suffolk, were called to a blaze in a derelict building in Paddock Street, at about 11.30pm.
A two-storey derelict house was on fire and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish it.
Positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke from the building.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
