An inquest has been opened after a stable hand was found dead near her home in Soham.
Pamela Winterburn, 44, was found in a field close to her home in Orchard Row, on July 21.
Pamela was well-known in racing circles in nearby Newmarket having looked after the late Sir Henry Cecil’s 1999 Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks winner Ramruma.
She also spent time at stables owned and managed by Hugo Palmer before leaving her post in April.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We were called at 7.38pm on Monday to land at Clipsal Meadow, Soham, where the body of a woman had been discovered. The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.”
An inquest into her death was opened by William Morris, coroner for North and East Cambridgeshire, on Friday. Her cause of death was listed as hanging.
The inquest was adjourned and will be reopened again in December.
