PRESIDENT Jenny Axford welcomed members to the final meeting of the year and during the annual meting she outlined her programme for her second year in office. During business, reports were given by members who attended the district and world convention in Christchurch. Members were reminded about dates for their diaries. We were disappointed to learn that the tree in Jubilee Gardens has been vandalised.

Reports were given by all the officers and officials and thanks given to all those who have served on committees. Jill Sallis, as immediate past president, re-inducted Jenny Axford as president.

Ava Paice, the president of the Ely fund-raising committee of Macmillan-Cancer Support was presented with a cheque for £300, from president Jenny Axford, her chosen charity of the year. Judith Crawley won the raffle and the evening concluded with wine and nibbles.
