THE April meeting of the Inner Wheel Club was held at the Old Dispensary on Wednesday of last week. President Jenny Axford opened the meeting by welcoming members and the last meeting's minutes were agreed and signed. Sylvia Hayler reported on the national conference in Belfast, which she attended with Pauline Bowerman, Jill Sallis (district chairman) and Carol Gunthorpe (district secretary).
President Jenny introduced the evening's speaker, Mike Axford, the fund-raising manager of Sue Ryder Care. Sue Ryder Care specialises in providing neurological care and hospice care. President Jenny thanked Mike for his interesting and informative talk and presented him with a cheque for the charity.
The next meeting of Inner Wheel will be the charity dinner to be held at St Mary's Hall, Ely on May 31 at 7.30pm.
