THE March meeting of the Inner Wheel Club was held at the Old Dispensary last Wednesday. President Jenny Axford opened the meeting by welcoming members and introducing the speakers for the evening who were Stella Louise Brown of Stella Louise Couture Millinery. Mrs Brown first became interested in millinery at university and served an apprenticeship under a local milliner. Each hat she now produces is unique and designed to reflect and enhance the wearer's own style and personality. It is meticulously blocked and stitched by hand using traditional techniques and equipment. Many stunning examples of her work were on display. Mrs Brown was thanked Jenny for her interesting and fascinating talk.

Following a break for coffee the president opened the business part of the meeting. Minutes of the last meeting were agreed and signed. Reports included those of the district committee meeting, the Cambridge Club's Overseas evening and the Bury Club's birthday supper. Correspondence included details from the Beccles Club of their charity ball on June 9 and the gardener's evening being held by Sawston Rotary Club at Scotsdales on April 11.

Details have also been received of the Scrabble tournament being organised by the Ely club at the sailing club on June 13. The treasurer reported on the club's finances and the Overseas Service Organiser on the fund-raising evening to be held on May 31.

The next club meeting will be held on April 26 at 7.30pm at the Old Dispensary.
