ThePORT Youth Group celebrated its one year anniversary in style this week.

Almost 800 people turned out at a sun-bathed Littleport Leisure Centre to enjoy bouncy castles, inflatable assault courses, face painting, a barbeque and even a visit from a pair of Alpacas as the group commemorated its first year on Thursday.

The event, hosted by ThePORT staff and 20 volunteers, raised an impressive £1,043, which will help fund the group’s future events.

Joanne Coe, who organised the day, said: “I was up last night in a panic thinking “what if we had only a few people attend?” but we had 796 people come along and help from five staff and 20 youth workers. We’d like to thank everyone who helped and all those who attended; without them events such as today’s wouldn’t be possible.”
