AUDACIOUS thieves stole a large telehandler from school playing fields in Ely.

The theft took place between 3pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday, with thieves stealing the large industrial machine from King’s School playing fields at Angel Drove.

Telehandlers are used to move large quantities of industrial goods and are capable of lifting up to two tonnes.

Police described the machine as yellow and “similar to a forklift.”
