Youngsters at Sutton Primary School are picking up Indian dance steps from their artist-in-residence, Reta Suali. Reta, from Peterborough, is spending time with the Year One pupils as part of a Vital Communities Research Project designed to raise awareness of creative arts. The youngsters are being taught the ancient dances of India, which started in the country's temples, and date back thousands of years. Following the children's classes, parents are called in find out more about their youngsters' lessons and join staff to practise some of the steps. The Indian dance sessions will culminate in a performance by the children on February 7 accompanied by Reta's family on the Indian drums.
