Littleport's dangerous level crossing bridge and the Victoria Road could be made safer if the district council agree to hand over £8,000 to improve lighting.
Parish council clerk Lynda Clarke Jones said: "The road going up towards Queen Adelaide is very fast and the level crossing itself used to be manned. Since the new housing estate was built, there are a lot of children around and we thought improvements to the street lighting would make it safer for everyone."
District councillors were due to decide if Littleport merits a slice of money obtained from developers at a committee meeting yesterday.
