SIX men believed to be on their way to an illegal rave near Ely in vans packed with sound equipment have been arrested.

A 26-year-old, three 21-year-olds and an 18-year-old, all from Cambridge, and a 20-year-old from London were stopped near Ely.

All men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance and have been bailed to return to Parkside Police Station on October 18.

A police spokeswoman said officers prevented a rave planned to take place at Block Fen, Mepal on Saturday.
