ADAM Thulborn shrieked racial abuse at a Turkish man in Ely city centre after being involved in an argument at Club Zest.
And when police arrived on the scene, 19-year-old Thulborn spat at two officers, hitting one in the face and another on the leg.
"I was stupid and I wish I had not gone out that night," the teenager told city magistrates on Thursday.
He admitted racially aggravated harassment and assaulting police officers Darren Goodwin and Neal Holdsworth.
Prosecuting, Angela Sassoli said police were on duty in the early hours of Easter Sunday morning when they found two groups of men having a verbal confrontation. One group was Turkish and the other English.
When police intervened, Thulborn, of Station Road, Littleport, shouted racial abuse and was arrested.
He resisted the police, and officers had to use reasonable force to contain him.
Thulborn, a factory worker, told police there had been tension between the two groups at Club Zest, concerning damage to a kebab shop.
After leaving the club, his friends met the Turkish men on the market place and gestures were exchanged.
"He was annoyed with himself, he realised he had far too much to drink," said Mrs Sassoli. "He was very angry and realised his behaviour was unacceptable and the police were only trying to do their job."
Sentencing was adjourned until May 18 for a report to be prepared, and he was given unconditional bail.
