A FRIENDLY jackdaw had dropped in on staff at Ely's Brands garden centre after being found wandering round the city centre. The bird was brought in on Monday by a customer who was concerned because it appeared so tame. At first the jackdaw wasn't keen on its new home and fled through the open door back to Market Place. He was picked up again later by garden centre worker, Kelly Blunsten, and travelled on her shoulder back to the shop where he was given a new home in a cage.Staff contacted its owner from information on a ring on the bird's foot but were worried when he told them he was planning to release it in Thetford Forest because they thought it was too tame to survive in the wild. Now they plan to send it to the Raptor Foundation at Woodhurst where a decision will be made on its future.
