More than 1,000 pints of real and cider were supped by visitors to this year’s record-breaking Sutton Beer Festival.

Held at St Andrew’s Church, the event hosted 15 real ales, six ciders and plenty of wine and soft drinks, with the cider and ale all but selling out across the event’s three days.

The 600 visitors to the festival were also treated to live music and hundreds of burgers were wolfed down at a barbecue.

Phil Bambrick, who helped organise the event, said: “It was absolutely fantastic, our best festival ever. People came out in their droves. Last year we raised about £2,000 and this year we almost doubled it.”

The £3,814 raised will be donated to church funds.
