HUNDREDS of people in Cambridgeshire joined the congregation at Ely Cathedral on Sunday for the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire's Justice Service attended by visiting judges, and others directly involved in the maintenance of law and order, the administration of justice and related voluntary organisations. The occasion was hosted by the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Judy Pearson, with the Dean and Chapter of Ely Cathedral. The preacher at the service was the Rev Nigel Pearson, the High Sheriff's Chaplain and husband. Presiding judge of the South Eastern Circuit the Hon Mr Justice Calvert-Smith, the Queen's Remembrancer, circuit and district judges, High Sheriffs from neighbouring counties, the Bishop of Ely, the Bishop, Dean and Chapter of Peterborough Cathedral, magistrates, mayors, senior police officers and other civic dignitaries were among the principal guests attending the service. The Ely Cathedral Girls' Choir lead the worship.
