Sixth form students from a school in Ely have donated hundreds of Easter eggs to the city’s foodbank.
King’s Ely pupils handed over 100 eggs two years ago, 200 last year and managed more than 350 this year.
The foodbank, based in Barton Road, helps scores of people every week by providing emergency provisions of food and household basics.
As part of their studies in social influence, students at King’s Ely are being taught to recognise the mechanisms of minority influence, draw attention to an issue, and be consistent in trying to achieve change.
Head of psychology at the school, Sean Quinn, said: “I am delighted with the students for applying these principles along with a great deal of generosity from all involved in enabling all children in the area to enjoy a treat at Easter during a time of financial hardship.”
