Pupils at a primary school in Waterbeach are tucking into their favourite books in a new-look library thanks to a local housing and care provider.

Waterbeach Community Primary School’s library has been given a new lease of life by Sanctuary through the installation of new windows and doors.

The library, which is also open to the public, is the school’s base for quiet reading and music tuition.

Jane Green, headteacher at Waterbeach Community Primary School, said: “We are really pleased with and grateful for the transformation that our community room has received. This work has certainly ensured that we will be able to continue using the building and supporting our pupils in their learning in the foreseeable future. The building is important to the community also and so the work will be of immense benefit to all.”

Sanctuary’s development manager, Sarah Brind, was happy to lend a helpinh hand. She said: “Sanctuary’s ethos is to support projects like this which benefit the local community and surrounding areas in which we’re working.

“We are pleased to have been able to support the transformation of the library and hope the children, as well as members of the local community, will be able to make good use out of it.”
