Faulty equipment caused a house to burst into flames in Stretham in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Firefighters from Ely and Cambridge were called to a house fire in Green End, at about 4.45am following reports that a fire had broken out the roof of a bungalow.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. Ladders were used to gain access and thermal imaging cameras were used to check for hotspots. The fire was extinguished by 6am.
An investigation determined that the cause of the fire was accidental, by equipment.
