DEVELOPER Freshwater Estates has been given the go-ahead to build 17 new homes on the site of a bungalow and house in Lynn Road, Ely.
The project involves four two-bedroom homes, five three-bedroom homes and eight four-bedroom homes.
Ely City Council had called for the latest plans to be thrown out claiming that there is no provision for open space, the access is not adequate and parking provision is inadequate.
East Cambridgeshire District Council's planning committee approved the project.
