PLANS for four homes in the grounds of a Burwell house were expected to be thrown out by planners yesterday (Wednesday).
The two-storey homes were planned for the garden of Harlech House in Isaacson Road in the Burwell Conservation Area.
But, although East Cambridgeshire District Council had agreed the site was acceptable for residential development in principle, officers expressed concern over the size of the new homes.
They feared the project, submitted by Upware Marina, represented over-development of the site and would be detrimental to the Conservation Area.
