COUNCIL chiefs have teamed up with a leading charity to spend almost £700,000 on helping more than 200 vulnerable residents look after their homes.

The money, provided by East Cambridgeshire District Council and Care and Repair, has helped the elderly and disabled make their homes weather proof, safe and adapted to meet their individual needs.

Last year, East Cambridgeshire District Council and Care and Repair provided 99 Home Repair Assistance Grants, 82 Home Insulation Grants, 67 Disabled Facilities Grants and two Renovation Loans.
