A NEW local history website which focuses on life around the River Ouse has been launched by schools in the Ely area.
www.elyproject.org.uk is the combined project of nine schools from Ely, Littleport, and Little Downham. The Ely Schools Partnership includes Ely St John's Primary School, Highfield School, Millfield Primary in Littleport and Downham Feoffees.
Also involved in the project are students from the City of Ely Community College, where the website was also launched.
The site, which is also produced in partnership with Ely Museum and the Museum and Library Archives, features photographs, artwork and video recordings, all representing the way of life around the River Ouse.
A launch day was held at City of Ely Community College, at which visitors were invited to view a demonstration of the website.
