The Lord Chamberlain’s Men are returning this summer to the Old Palace garden in Ely with their award-winning production of Twelfth Night.

One of Shakespeare’s most famous and tangled love stories, the production will be over-flowing with love, laughter and longing and mischief, mayhem and mistaken identity.

The production is being staged on Tuesday, June 9, with doors open at 6.30pm.

With one of the best-known comic sub-plots ever written no performance of Twelfth Night is complete without a good dose of the pompous steward Malvolio and his cross-gartered yellow stockings.

Mark Puddle, creative producer, said: “Twelfth Night is the play that our audiences have been begging us to return to. The play has always been one of Shakespeare’s funniest and I can’t think of anything more perfect for a summer’s evening than a classical retelling of this great comedy set against the background of some the nation’s most beautiful attractions.”
