ON Bank Holiday Monday, 14 walkers plus the two leaders braved the rain for the weekly walk. Led by Liz Gwinnett with Laurie Budd at the back, their walk this week took them from the church down Fountain Lane to West Drive, around West Drive Crescent, West Drive Gardens and through the passageway to Mereside, up Julius Martin Lane and through Martin's Close to Townsend, Foxwood to Bushel Lane, around Queensway along by the Weatheralls allotments, Eastern Avenue, Brewhouse Lane, White Hart Lane, High Street, through the church alley to Clay Street, College Road and through the college grounds and Walter Gidney Lane, Sand Street and finally The Ship for welcome refreshments. A walk of 2.6miles.
