STAFF at St George's Medical Centre in Littleport have reported a spate of vandalism.
Practice manager Yvonne Bartram said: "The very people who are doing this are then expecting treatment when they walk through the front door. We've spent thousands on CCTV, sonic repellents and replacing broken drainpipes. They have just smashed every light in the car park so we're having to go out there in pitch black."
Mrs Bartram said the pressure on surgeries to extend their opening hours would cause problems.
"I often work late and have to run through the car park. When the nights draw in why should I ask reception staff to put themselves at risk?"
Every time there is an incident, it costs £100 to employ staff to go through the tape and prepare a video for police.
Mrs Bartram said there was a certain amount of apathy in the village as even when incidents are reported nothing gets done.
Staff are now working with the parish council to install a barrier at the front of the car park.
"The next move is anti-climb paint. Thick black stuff all over their designer clothes. I just hope they won't see it as a challenge," said Mrs Bartram.
A police spokesman said: "All incidents of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage are taken seriously. We would encourage anyone who is a victim of these crimes, or anyone who witnesses such incidents taking place to contact police. This will enable officers to build up a picture of incidents in the area to help target resources effectively.
