CHRISTMAS will be a little brighter for children in some of the poorest parts of the world this year thanks to the efforts of pupils at the Robert Arkenstall School in Haddenham.
The school’s pupils have been taking part in Operation Christmas Child, an initiative that sees small gifts and items of clothing no longer used by children in England wrapped into packages and sent to Africa and parts of Eastern Europe.
Often the gifts will be the only thing the children have to open at Christmas and pupils at the Arkenstall managed to collect enough items for 69 boxes this year.
Headteacher Dominic Sharp said: “It’s something that we do every year and always brings a fantastic response from pupils.”
