A MAN whose body was discovered in fields near Haddenham on Thursday morning has been named as Terence Leslie Smith.
Mr Smith, aged 62, from Sutton, was discovered by dog walkers at 9.30am at an area of land on the A1421, between Haddenham and Witcham Toll.
An inquest will be opened tomorrow (Tuesday) in Wisbech by the coroner for North and East Cambridgeshire, William Morris.
An autopsy carried out at Addenbrook's Hospital in Cambridge on Friday established that the cause of death was inhalation of fire fumes and burning.
Police and forensic teams were called to the field near the Black Fen Waterway Trail where Mr Smith, who is thought to be a local taxi driver, was found after dog walkers raised the alarm.
Residents of nearby Staple Lees Farmhouse said they only realised something had happened by they heard the police helicopter overhead.
