A free musical event will take place on the weekend of August 19/20 at the recreation field in Haddenham. Protection of the football pitch will be put in place. The event will run from noon until 10pm on Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sunday. The police have been informed of the event and minimal stewarding will be in place on both days. Noise levels of the music will be monitored throughout the weekend. There will be areas for people to picnic while listening to the bands. The council fully supports the event and it is hoped that if successful it could become an annual event.

Information from district councillors

The plans to extend the cathedral car park have now been dropped. Consideration is being given to constructing a single deck over the station car park, which would provide 100 additional spaces aimed at long-stay commuters. It is hoped this would be jointly funded by the district and county councils, plus the Government and the railway authorities.

The county council is progressing with HGV route management and a spokesman will be invited to attend the parish council meeting in October to give a presentation on the subject.
