Haddenham councillor Bill Hunt has vowed that he will try to make the A1123 safer, after a man died in a collision there on Friday (December 1).
Mark Jones, 38, of Elms Road, Freckenham, near Isleham, died after his Masda MX5 collided with a white Vauxhall Astra Envoy at around 7.50am on Friday (December 1).
Another person trapped in a vehicle was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the road was closed until that afternoon.
Cllr Hunt said: “It is so very sad that we have another fatal accident on the A1123 in the Haddenham area.
“All we can do is to express our sympathy to the families of those involved.
“It is however quite clear that the community owes a huge debt of gratitude to the ambulance, fire, police and air ambulance services.
“Where would be without these brave men and women who deliver so well in all weathers and so often without thanks?
“I will continue my work to try and make this road safer.”
A police spokesman said: “Witnesses are asked to contact the road policing unit on 101, quoting incident number 91 of 1 December.”
