YOUNGSTERS in Isleham will be able to enjoy a new play area after it was formally opened by the district council last week. East Cambridgeshire District Council was awarded £500,000 from the Lottery Fund to improve facilities for children across the area.

YOUNGSTERS in Isleham will be able to enjoy a new play area after it was formally opened by the district council last week.

East Cambridgeshire District Council was awarded £500,000 from the Lottery Fund to improve facilities for children across the area.

Peter Cresswell, chairman of the district council's community services committee, said: "Creating areas for people of all ages to play and enjoy themselves is really important if we are to create fit, able and sociable adults."

Diane Bayliss, clerk to Isleham Parish Council said local youngsters were consulted before any play equipment was chosen for the site.
