Good turnout for Welney Country Fair

MORE than 400 people attended the first Welney Country Fair for a celebration all things Fen. Cooking demonstrations, vegetables, organic produce, welly whanging, pond dipping, guided walks and apple hunting were just some of the attractions on offer at t

MORE than 400 people attended the first Welney Country Fair for a celebration all things Fen. Cooking demonstrations, vegetables, organic produce, welly whanging, pond dipping, guided walks and apple hunting were just some of the attractions on offer at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre on the outskirts of the village.

Also included, were book readings, bird box making and eel trap weaving. Stalls included RSPB and family vegetable growers Shropshires. Proceeds to Wetlands Trust.
