Paralympian gold medallist Louis Rolfe was the star attraction when he visited Ely on Friday to officially open the newly refitted Spectacular Opticians.
The shop in High Street has undergone a major refurbishment with £10,000s invested in reshaping the consulting room, new glass cabinets, new display units and a better lay-out for the store.
Louis helped cut a ribbon to open the store before meeting visitors and signing autographs for young fans.
Ely’s mayor Councillor Ian Lindsay also popped into the opening which also included refreshments.
John Attrill, marketing director, said: “It was a really good evening, we were busy the whole time we were open. Louis was very popular, especially with the youngsters who were keen to meet him and hold his gold medal.”
