A GROUP of 10 girls from Belarus are currently in the middle of a four-week stay in the local area with a number of volunteer host families. The visit has been organised by the Chernobyl Children Life Line charity, which raises money to benefit the health of the children who are are still feeling the effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. This is the seventh year that the scheme has hosted a group of children and in that time around 160 children have been helped. With the help of local businesses the children have an action-packed itinerary which includes trips to Center Parcs, Shepreth Wildlife Park and Legoland as well as visits to the Princess of Wales Dentist and J Wade's opticians. On June 23, the girls attended a dance workshop at the Octagon Studios in Ely which culminated in a performance for the host families.

Pictured are the 10 girls in their outfits at the dance workshop.
