THE Ely Cathedral Girls' Choir will be featured on Classic FM with a recording of Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols.

They can be heard on radio station's Full Works programme at 9pm on Tuesday, December 2.

Producers at the station were impressed by the choir's newly-released CD, entitled Sing Reign of Fair Maid which was recorded at Ely Cathedral during the spring and also features works by other 20th Century composers and an arrangement of a 14th Century traditional carol, Gaudete! by their director, Sarah MacDonald.

Copies of the CD are also on sale at Ely Cathedral shop.

INFO: Ely Cathedral Girls' Choir was founded in September 2006 under the direction of Louise Reid, former director of the Girls' Choir in both Wakefield and Guildford Cathedrals. The 18 Ely girl choristers - all boarding pupils at the King's School Ely, are aged 13-18.
