1 – Who are you?

Mark Brannan Goldsack, a Soham boy who wed a Fordham girl, emigrated to Isleham, and now is District Councillor for Soham North Ward.

2 – What do you do?

For business I help people at the time of household / commercial property insurance claims taking care of all matters for them, at no cost to them.

For community I chair The Beeches Isleham and am now DC for Soham North.

3 – Why would people know you?

Every village or town has the footballer that tries so hard, loves the game, but isn’t quite good enough. That was me in Soham, so I started managing teams in my early 20’s before managing Soham Town Red then Mildenhall Town FC for a few years and then the county men’s team.

The people! So many great characters and givers, we have some amazing communities.

My first grandchild due in November

14 – A place you would never want to return to and why?

New Orleans - it’s a city where a city should never have been built and prone to so many issues

Alive: Sir Alex Ferguson, Michael Atherton, Billy Connelly.

Dead: Margaret Goldsack (mum), Jackie Brannan (grandfather), John Brannan (uncle).

A timeshare salesman on holiday

17 – Who was your childhood hero and why?

Jackie Brannan, my granddad. A Scotsman stationed in Fordham during WW2, married a Soham girl, Joan Sizer, and made his life in Soham. A man of integrity, humour, energy and love.

18 – Your claim to fame.

Being an instigator and now chairman of trustees for The Beeches Isleham, a shining example of how a good community centre can be a huge asset to a great place to live.

19 - Biggest regret in life or biggest achievement?

Regret is being so skinny. Achievement is being married to my childhood sweetheart for 31 years and our two amazing daughters, Georgina and Megan.

20 – What character would you dress as for a fancy dress party?

Mr Potato Head from ‘Toy Story’ or Winston Churchill.
