THE British Heart Foundation in Ely will be hosting the Great British bag-athon this September and the charity is encouraging people to donate as much as they can lay their hands on.
The charity says that just one bag of donated items could be worth up to 20, while 50 bags could help fund portable ultrasound scanners to help diagnose heart problems sooner.
A spokesman said: “This September, we’re asking everyone across Britain to help us raise the biggest amount of bags of lovely things as possible.
“Each bag filled equals bags of money, on average 20 per bag, which equals vital funding for our life-saving work.”
To take part in the bag-athon, simply pop into the Ely branch, in High Street, and pick up a form, which will include details on how you can get involved.
