A man was injured following an explosion at a farm in Ely today (Monday)
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service said an acetylene gas cylinder stored in the back of a car exploded when the back door of the vehicle was opened, at High Flyer Farm.
The incident took place at about noon and a spokesman for the fire service said a man was treated for injuries suffered during the incident. It is understood that the man was taken to hospital by staff at the farm and his injuries are not thought to be serious.
A spokesman for the fire service said firefighters from Ely and Littleport attended the scene and worked to cool the cylinder down.
The spokesman added that one crew remained at the site until 4pm.
