THERE was a very good attendance at the April meting when chairman John Groves introduced the welcome return of Roger Skipper. This time, his talk with slides, was on the garden route of South Africa. He showed us some excellent slides of the wonderful assortment of flowers growing there, mostly growing wild. It wasn't only flowers, but elephants and monkeys and on the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town and across the choppy sea to Robben Island. Members thoroughly enjoyed the 'trip, abroad and Roger was thanked by Maureen Peacock.
Our next meeting is a coach outing to Scotsdale Garden Centre on Wednesday May 9, leaving the Brooklands Centre at 6.15pm. The cost is £3 per person. There are a few seats available so if you are interested, contact Janet on 01353 778337 as soon as possible.
