GALLERY: Winners of Rotary Club of Ely’s Young Photographers competition announced

The winners of a photography competition have been announced.
Adam Marsh, 17, of King’s Ely School, with his photograph “Observers”, won The Rotary Club of Ely’s Young Photographers competition.
Fellow 17 year-olds Lara Edwards and Kitty Watson came second and third, with Ella Howlett getting a highly commended.
The winner of the junior section was 10 year-old Ely St John’s pupil Finn Clark.
In total the competition attracted 40 entries, which were described as “fantastic” by judge and Ely Standard photographer Steve Williams.
He said: “There was fantastic quality throughout and plenty of different ideas.
“Adam won because his photograph was creative and used movement. It met the criteria, which was people, and was well executed.
“Finn’s photograph was a nice pop art Andy Warhol image of his brother.”
Rotary chairman Viv Doji said: “This is the first time we’ve run the competition and the standard was very high. It was excellent.”
The photographs from pupils at King’s Ely and Ely St John’s Primary School will be on display at the city’s library on Saturday, May 31 from 10am-3.30pm.
