THE winners of the Ely Standard East Cambridgeshire Business Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony at The Maltings on Friday night.

All our nominees and winners are proof of the entrepreneurial spirit and determination necessary to not only survive in business during a recession but in many cases thrive.

Ely Standard editor Debbie Davies said: "It was a privilege to be in the same room as our winners and nominees who have all had to deal with huge challenges during the recession. Our winners are truly representative of all the hard working people in East Cambridgeshire whose business skills will ensure the area remains economical successful for many years to come. It was also a real pleasure to see the excitment on people's faces as they went up to receive their awards and we hope they enjoyed attending the event as much as we enjoyed hosting it."
