POPPIES cascaded from the Octagon Tower at Ely Cathedral as hundreds of people turned out to mark Remembrance Day in the city.
Veterans, cadets, scouts, brownies and scores more paraded from St Mary’s Green, round Minster Place and The Gallery and into Ely Cathedral for a short service of remembrance.
The parade then headed down High Street to the Market Place where a wreath-laying service was carried out, with the mayor of Ely, Will Burton, and the chair of East Cambs District Council, Tony Parramint among dignitaries who attended.
The standards were then paraded past the war memorial and back onto the Market Place.
