Pupils at Rackham Primary School, in Witchford, are preparing to bring down the house with their production of The Pirates of the Curry Bean.
Children in Years 3-6 have been hard at work in rehearsals since January and will be putting on two performances at the school on Wednesday and Thursday.
The play is billed as a swashbuckling pirate adventure on the high seas and sees young twins Jack and Liza Periwinkle set out on an adventure after discovering a treasure map.
But the pair run in to the infamous Redbeard and his pungent Pirates of the Curry Bean, who steal the map and kidnap their mother.
Accompanied by their faithful cat Fiddlesticks, the twins join a mad admiral and his crazy crew on a voyage of adventure that takes them from old London docks to the mysterious island of lumbago in the sea of sciatica.
Director and head teacher Suzanne Carter said: “All of the children have enjoyed perfecting their pirate ‘arrs’ for this very funny play and they are very excited about performing it to the rest of the school and for their parents.”
