MORE than 1000 people turned out to enjoy the impressive displays of trains and railways at the annual Ely Model Railway Exhibition at the weekend.
Hosted by the Ely and District Model Railway Club, the exhibition has been running for more than 30 years and this year featured a live steam train as well as the more traditional favourites.
Exhibition organiser Andy Wilkinson, told the Ely Standard: "It went really well on the day with more than 1000 people coming to see the layouts and I'm sure they all went away happy.
"It is a very popular hobby and that was seen by the amount of people that came to the show.
