OPERA singing group G4 will be turning on the Christmas lights in Cambridge, Star Radio announced this week.

The X Factor runners-up have been working non-stop since appearing on the show, and hit the number one spot in the album charts with their debut album.

Star Radio, which covers Cambridge and Ely, will be providing music and entertainment.

The station's programme controller, Mark Peters, said: "Star Radio is really pleased to be hosting the Christmas lights switch-on for Cambridge once again, and bringing yet another high profile act to entertain the crowds on the night."

G4 has just completed a massive 25-date sell-out tour this summer, and along the way has performed with Robin Gibb and opera star Lesley Garrett.

The lights switch-on is on Sunday, November 19, in Cambridge Market Square between 4pm and 5pm, and G4 members will perform some of their biggest tracks for the crowds.

"G4 will fit in well with the great atmosphere surrounding the prestige of the Cambridge Christmas lights switch on," said Mr Peters.
