VISITORS to Ely Museum met all manner of furry friends last week as part of the museum's "Animal Attack" week.

Guinea pigs, hamsters, and rare breeds of rabbits and birds were on display on Wednesday and Friday for children to stroke and learn about.

Acting curator Elie Hughes said: "It was great because the kids got to handle the animals and they made lots of crafts."

She said visitors also took trips to Roswell Pits in search of local wildlife.
