Youngsters hatched the perfect Easter activity when they raised chicks at their pre school nursery.

A total of 11 chicks hatched under the watchful eye of Littleport Pre School.

Manager Hayley Rudnicki said: “This is the third year we have done it and were successful in hatching all 11 of our eggs.

“The children enjoyed watching the incubator waiting for them to crack open and were then able to hold them and talk about the process.”

Easter topics have also included children enjoying colouring activities and even painting using raw eggs.

The chicks will be taken home by Elicia Taylor and her mum Jess who say they will provide regular updates of how their new pets are doing.

The eggs and hatching kit were provided by the Happy Chick Company of Peterborough which specialises in providing educational kits for schools and nurseries in the eastern region.
