Lunchtime concert by St Mary's Junior School and Stretham Primary School.

ST Mary's Junior School and Stretham Community Primary School entertained a lunchtime audience with an array of songs in the south transept of Ely Cathedral on June 8.

St Mary's School, under the directorship of Hazel Law and accompanied by Bridgette Hickish, sang Amani Utupe, I'm The Lord of Sea and Sky, Dona Nobis Pacem, Rutter's All Things Bright and Beautiful and Steam Train. Stretham Community Primary School, under the directorship and accompanied by Ken Ellis, sang The Rainbow Connection, Georgia, Singing the Blues, Memor', Music of the Night, Steal Away, Wade in the Water and Go Down Moses.

It was sheer pleasure to see the children perform so well. Their refreshing youthful voices, their dedication and enthusiasm, their variety of expression ranging from boisterous zeal to harmonious part-singing all helped to create a delightful event. Further school lunch time concerts are planned.
