More than 100 Year 11 pupils arrived at the Manor Road school in style, travelling in everything from ice cream vans and tractors right down to pogo shoes.

Some chose to contrast the elegance of the traditional prom dress with the boldness of the articulated lorry, while others sought a more tongue-in-cheek approach.

Whatever their mode of transport, each and every pupil was welcomed with rapturous applause by hundreds of friends and family who lined the route into the college car park, with the wet weather failing to curb their enthusiasm.

The event was held to celebrate the end of the pupil’s five years at the college as they await the results of their GCSE examinations, due to be published in August.
